Celebrating Reformation Day!

Celebrating Reformation Day!

October 27, 2021

Did you know that October 31 is Reformation Day? It's a time when Christians recognize and even celebrate a huge, game-changing event in our history more than 500 years ago: Reformation Day commemorates the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. Yet many Christians today are unaware of this landmark incident in their heritage which birthed the Protestant church. Michelle and Amy reprise this discussion from 2020 about the commemoration of one of the most important events since the closing of the canon of Scripture.

What Would You Do?

What Would You Do?

October 20, 2021

Remember the ABC reality TV show from a few years ago called “What would you do?”Or the board game called "Scruples?" Christians can often find themselves in all sorts of sticky situations. We might try to use the world's wisdom to figure out what we'd do in different scenarios, but a better way is to use a biblical foundation and wisdom from God. In this episode, Michelle and Amy ask each other, "What would YOU do?"

When Hitting the Bar is Necessary: An interview with the Kozars

When is it okay for Christians to “Hit the Bar?” Amy and Michelle interview two people who love the Lord, and they - unfortunately - need to hit the bar more often than they’d like! It's not about drinking -- it's about discerning truth from error. We’re talking about Steve Kozar and his wife Paulette, hosts of their Messed Up Church YouTube ministry titled, Hit the Bar.

Pull over - it‘s the Tone Police

Pull over - it‘s the Tone Police

September 15, 2021

A lot of Christian women seem to have the mistaken idea that “speaking the truth in love” equates to being “nice.” We should always be smiling and sweet and never say anything that might hurt someone’s feelings or could rock the boat. But what does the Bible say about our tone? Michelle and Amy dig into Scripture and take on the "Tone Police" in this episode.

Why Aren‘t Mormons Christians? with Pastor Travis McNeely

Why Aren‘t Mormons Christians? with Pastor Travis McNeely

September 8, 2021

You may have noticed that Mormons, or Latter-day Saints, believe that they should be considered “Christians” just like their Christian friends. However, there are stark differences in theology; differences that put Mormons - as kind as they are - in the heretical category. In this episode, Michelle and Amy interview Pastor Travis McNeely about what Mormons believe and teach.

The Trap of Entitlement

The Trap of Entitlement

August 31, 2021

It's an encore presentation! Entitlement is the belief that we are deserving of privileges or special treatment, either from God or from the world around us. It says “you owe me,” and a growing number of people are having tantrums when they perceive that other people are standing in the way or blocking whatever they think is rightfully theirs. Do we think we deserve the so-called normal that we had before 2020? Do we expect that things will settle down anytime soon? Hold on to those expectations loosely, because today we are talking about how this new normal of entitlement in our culture is creeping into the Christian mentality.

August 18, 2021

Michelle and Amy discuss some "pet peeves" in evangelicalism - things Christians, churches, and ministries do that can irritate. Little things. Maybe funny things. Maybe not so funny, big things.  And not just because they’re irritating, but because they’re unbiblical, unwise, or they’re a hindrance to others in their walk with the Lord.
