Winter is Coming! Are You Prepped?
Wednesday Dec 01, 2021
Wednesday Dec 01, 2021
No matter where you live, these winter months remind us that preparing for whatever comes our way in the freezing months ahead is a good thing. Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in preparedness that it can become an idol. We have a God whose plans, whose providence, whose will is not going to be thwarted.

A Theology of Thanksgiving
Monday Nov 22, 2021
Monday Nov 22, 2021
Do you have a theology that includes thanksgiving all year long? Even in the worst circumstances or the direst of situations?
God wants His people to be thankful to Him, not just because He deserves our thanks, but because it is good for us to be thankful. It helps us fix our eyes on all He has done for us - from the greatest gift of all, giving His precious Son to save us from our sins.
Michelle and Amy wish you a Thanksgiving filled with gratitude and kindness. We are thankful for each and every one of you!

Twisted Complementarianism
Wednesday Nov 17, 2021
Wednesday Nov 17, 2021
If you aren’t familiar with the term “complementarianism,” it simply means “the biblical roles of men and women in the home and in the church.” It's also a term that has been twisted into something else. Complementarians like Michelle and Amy believe men and women are both made in the image of God, and equal in value to Him. However, we have some wonderful, ingenious differences in the way God wired and equipped us. We also have different roles in the home - the husband is responsible for leading, and the wife is responsible for being his helper and submitting to his leadership. In the church, it is the responsibility of biblically qualified men to serve as pastors, elders, and deacons, to preach and teach the Scriptures to men and any co-ed adult groups, and to fulfill positions of authority over men and co-ed adult groups.

That‘s Enough! The Sufficiency of Scripture
Tuesday Nov 09, 2021
Tuesday Nov 09, 2021
Have you ever thought God was talking to you in your mind? Maybe a friend has said, “God told me such and such,” or “God showed me something” in a dream or a vision. Does God speak to people audibly today like He spoke to Moses, the prophets, and a few others in Scripture?
All of those ways people think God is speaking to them are called “extra-biblical revelation” - things that God is supposedly revealing to them outside the pages of the Bible. But as Michelle and Amy share what God Himself tells us - in the Bible - that He communicates with Christians through His sufficient written Word.

Celebrating Reformation Day!
Wednesday Oct 27, 2021
Wednesday Oct 27, 2021
Did you know that October 31 is Reformation Day? It's a time when Christians recognize and even celebrate a huge, game-changing event in our history more than 500 years ago: Reformation Day commemorates the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. Yet many Christians today are unaware of this landmark incident in their heritage which birthed the Protestant church. Michelle and Amy reprise this discussion from 2020 about the commemoration of one of the most important events since the closing of the canon of Scripture.

What Would You Do?
Wednesday Oct 20, 2021
Wednesday Oct 20, 2021
Remember the ABC reality TV show from a few years ago called “What would you do?”Or the board game called "Scruples?" Christians can often find themselves in all sorts of sticky situations. We might try to use the world's wisdom to figure out what we'd do in different scenarios, but a better way is to use a biblical foundation and wisdom from God. In this episode, Michelle and Amy ask each other, "What would YOU do?"
Let us know in the comments if you've played along with us!

Pull over - it‘s the Tone Police
Wednesday Sep 15, 2021
Wednesday Sep 15, 2021
A lot of Christian women seem to have the mistaken idea that “speaking the truth in love” equates to being “nice.” We should always be smiling and sweet and never say anything that might hurt someone’s feelings or could rock the boat. But what does the Bible say about our tone? Michelle and Amy dig into Scripture and take on the "Tone Police" in this episode.
